Proficiency in interior design art is not something that comes unintentionally. The students will not get their total skill proficiency by only having relied on their sketching ability, imagination, and reason. Because of such a reason, we need an empirical and real learning that can be comprehended intricately as mutually supporting parts among interior knowledge components. Designing without understanding its 'material' is similar to a chef cooking withoutknowing and recognizing the vegetables going to steam. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Menguasai ilmu desain interior bukan sesuatu yang datang secara tiba-tiba. Hanya dengan mengandalkan kemampuan menggambar, imajinasi dan logika saja, peserta didik tidak akan mendapatkan penguasaan ilmu yang menyeluruh. Oleh karena itu perlu pendidikan yang bersifat empiris dan nyata, dapat dipahami secara komplek sebagai bagian yang saling mendukung antar komponen pengetahuan interior. Merancang tanpa memahami material, bagaikan koki yang memasak tanpa mengetahui dan mengenal sayuran yang akan dimasaknya.
